First Young Polymer Scientist Conference

First Young Polymer Scientist Conference and Fifth Short Course on Block Copolymer–Based Nanomaterials.


During the last week of March the First Young Polymer Scientist Conference and Fifth Short Course on Block Copolymer–Based Nanomatirials took place in Santiago de Compostela organized by NANOFUN-POLY. The main objective of NANOFUN-POLY is to generate a Network of Excellence designed to become a European Center of Nanostructured Polymers and Polymer-based Nanocomposite Materials, strengthening the scientific, technological and training excellence in all the disciplines that contribute to the development of this important field.


The aim of this congress is to gather the young European polymer scientists and to promote discussion among junior researchers, and between junior researchers and established scientists. Moreover, the Fifth Short Course focused on a fast-moving sector such as block copolymer-based nanomaterials. All stages from synthesis, characterization and self-assembly to nanostructure fabrication and applications were covered through a multidisciplinary approach.
The next event organized by NANOFUN will be the 3rd international symposium on nanostructured and functional polymer-based materials and nanocomposites which will take place in Corfu, Greece from May 13th to 15th, 2007.
